Margaret I have lived in Asia for nearly 30 years. We have had the privilege to visit several countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Myanmar and Philippines. Most visitors who travel to Cambodia have to visit Angkor Wat, because it is a famous religious temple in the world. Rattanak kiri is the tracking place for adventurous tourist who like tracking to deep jungle. I do not want tracking but I want to be there for sight seeing, swimming at water fall,and meet with various groups of tribal people who speak their own languages that I do not understand at all.

I had been a senior guest relation at Victoria Hotel in Siem Reap. I see most visitors who come to this province is to visit only Angkor temples. If I could recommend them, I would tell them to see other places like scenic landscapes in Rattanakiri and Sihanouk Ville with it natural beaches. I graduated from Royal University of Phnom Penh, the qualified university in Cambodia, in field of History. During my last academic year, I was employed as a Khmer Content Developer working for Manich Enterprise of Mr. Mean and Mrs. Thida. I worked for them as a part-time job until I graduated. Since then, I have worked full-time. When they established Asia Palm Tour & Travel, I was assigned to the new position as a Historian for this newly established tour company.

I am really pleased with this position because it involves many professional skills. As a matter of fact, I’m eager to know the reality of my own country, especially on Khmer Social history and its cultures. Having graduated and been involved in academic research, I’m very proud of my own ancestors and country; and this precious knowledge and experience makes me know and understand the nature and culture of my people and country both in the past and in the present time.

During the academic years, I have made several study tours, along with my professors and classmates, to most parts of Cambodia. This provides me with extensive knowledge of the uniqueness of each community, its culture, its population lifestyle and their standard of living. So I believe that Cambodia is a prior destination in Southeast Asia for tourists.
