Sihanouk Ville

Sihanoukville Sihanouk ville is the best tourist attraction for holiday and relaxation from their busy lives or a long traveling. It is a single international sea port, which is located in the southwestern of Cambodia. Sihanoukville is the busy, happy, and civilized city along with Phnom Penh and Siem Reap city. Capital of the city concludes many attractive places.

Hotels and guesthouse is abundant in the city; visitors can find from the lowest to the highest in standard of those accommodations. Visitor can pay their city lives there because there are so many restaurants, modern markets, zoo, night clubs, bars, bear garden, and casinos, etc. Furthermore sea foods in Sihanoukvill city are able to find easily with a low price.

Visitors will be appreciated with the good service that local will pay for them. Sihanoukville is surrounded by many white sandy beaches and tropical islands off its south and west coast. The city consists of many beautiful beaches, four of which are the most popular beaches: Ochheuteal, Sokha, Independence and Victory. From these beaches, tourists can go diving, snorkeling, island hopping and game fishing at the islands nearby.

BEACHES

Ocheuteal Beach [ Top ]

Ocheuteal Beach stretches approximately 2 kilometers from Serendipity Beach and Otres Beach. This long and narrow beach was lined with pine trees, grass umbrellas, rental chairs and little drink huts. Most of these drink huts serve Khmer style foods; however, many offer Western dishes. Seafood, pizza, booze and burger are wildly found for visits. On the other side of the road from the Beach, there are many hotels and restaurants. Among other outstanding beaches in Sihanouk Ville, Ocheuteal Beach is the most famous relaxing beach with Cambodians and especially foreign visitors.

Sokha Beach [ Top ]

Sokha Beach is a 1.5-kilometer private beach for the guest of the Sokha Resort Hotel, the first five-star luxury beach hotel in Sihanouk Ville. It includes a beautiful swimming pool, lobby lounge and many other facilities. Although it is an impressive beach, there are too few people visiting here. If people are not staying at the hotel, hotel guards may prevent them from going on to the beach.

Sihanoukville is surrounded by many palm-fringed sandy beaches and pristine tropical islands off its south and west coast. The city consists of many beautiful beaches, four of which are the most popular beaches: Ochheuteal, Sokha, Independence and Victory.

Independence Beach [ Top ]

Next to Sokha Beach on its west, Independence Beach runs over 1 kilometer in length. The beach’s name was known after the old Independence Hotel, which is located at the northern end of the beach. This beach offers a good stretch of white clean sand. It is a very popular weekend destination for visitors from Phnom Penh.

Victory Beach [ Top ]

Victory Beach is at the far north of Sihanoukville city where Sihanouk International Sea Port is located at the northern end of the beach. It used to be originally the backpacker beach and remains a favorite with budget travelers because of its proximity to most popular guest-houses of Sihanoukvill. Visitors hardly find a perfect tropical moment here, because it is a narrow beach and is next to the sea port. However, in addition to white and blue sea, the beach offers a good spot to enjoy the scene of sunset. If visitors want to visit nearby islands, they can easily hire a boat from here.


ISLANDS

Koh Rong [ Top ]

Koh Rong is situated about 44 kilometers off the coast of Sihanouk Ville. It is the second largest island in Cambodia Sea. Some tourists believe that it is a real heaven island when they meet the awesome beauty and remoteness of this island. On the southwest of the island, there is an incredible strand of an over-5-kilometer-long beach with gorgeous white sand. Moreover, this island is the settlement of a busy fishing community on its southeastern site; this village can provide visitors abandon basic supplies including fresh water, fish, crab and other sea creatures.

Koh Rong Sanloem

Koh Rong Samlon is over 25 kilometer off the coast of Sihanouk Ville and situated on southeast of Koh Rong. Beautiful beaches are on the east coast, where a large heart-shaped bay with some shellfish cultivation is located, and on the north shoreline facing Koh Rong. Now, the island is under development program of a private company. Soon it may become an impressive relaxing resort.

Koh Tang [ Top ]

Koh Tang is located approximately 60 kilometers from the main shoreline of Sihanouk Ville. With this distant, visitors need to stay overnight on board. Around this island, there are interesting diving spots, most of which are not frequently explored. There, divers will find large pelagic with tons of fish.

Dolphins, cobias, trevelly, turtles, sailfish, bat fish, pompano, small sharks have all been sighted here. Koh Tang played a major role in the ‘Mayaguez Incident’ and still shows the scarring of the May 1975 battle between American and Khmer Rouge forces. The island is home to a military outpost and travelers should expect to be boarded by military personnel when out at the island.

Koh Pos [ Top ]

Koh Pos is a small island located only 800 meters from Victory Beach. It is a little rocky and currently under development of a private company. Visitors can reach this island by renting boats that are easily found at Victory Beach or Lumhekay Beach.


SURROUNDINGS

Ream National Park [ Top ]

Cambodia Ream National Park is about 18 kilometers from the city. It encompasses over 21,ooo hectares. The park is the home of beautiful beaches, tropical jungles, mangroves forests, 155 different species of birds, monkeys and from December to February the white fresh water dolphin.


Kbal Chhay Waterfall [ Top ]

Kbal Chhay Waterfall is about 17 kilometers north of Sihanoukville. The waterfall of Kbal Chhay has many sources from the mountain rank at the seaside. In 1998 Kbal Chhay became a tourist resort for local and international tourists. Nowadays, the Royal Government of Cambodia has changed this site as the clean-water sources for providing clean water to Sihanouk Ville.
