East Mebon was built by King Rajendravarman II in A.D 952.
This temple was built to dedicate to Shiva (God in Hinduism) and his dead parents. The construction and decoration of the temple is similar to Pre Rup temple.
It is about 500 meter north of Pre Rup temple. It was built on a small island in the middle of a large artificial lake that is now called “East Baray” (7 km by 1.8 km).
