Prasat Kravan

Prasat Kravan was built in 921 during the reign of Harshavarman I (915-923), probably by his high rank official of justice. The temple is located in Kravan village at the east of Angkor Wat. Its five sanctuaries are lined up in a north-south row, with their doors are open to the east. The towers of three shrines could not be recovered; the remaining two were restored. Its perfect carved decoration style is during between the style of Bakheng temple and Koh Ker temple.

The temple was restored by French during the protectorate. Visitors will see that some broken brick were restored while some new brick were filled with original style of the old brick.

Although it looks small and somewhat undistinguished from the outside, it contains some remarkable brick sculptures on its interior walls which stand alone as unique examples in Khmer art.
