Beng Mealea

Beng Mealea is about 7 kilometers southeast of Phnom Kulen (Kulen Mountain). It was probably built in the late 11th to early 12th century during King Suryavarman II (AD 1113-1150) because the architecture style of the temple is so similar to Angkor Wat temple. Although being discovered since during French protectorate, the temple has been never restored yet. It is ruined under tree roots.
